Wednesday Morning Dispatches 10/11/06

I’ve decided not to go to the 5th Distict Congressional forum this morning. I’ve already decided who to vote for so I would just be going as an interested observer. Fact is, with the weather the way it is, I’m not that interested. Tomorrow’s 97th forum being held at 7:30 in the morning when it might be snowing IN OCTOBER is also an unlikely destination for this intrepid retiree.

  • Mark Belling has come to the sudden realization that Jim Doyle Lies.
  • The government expects winter heating bills to be lower. Are these the same guys that predicted all those hurricanes this year? I’d better get a few more blankets.
  • Waukesha Rubber is closing. What to do with the real estate? Bad location for manufacturing, funny shaped lot, it is pretty close to Jackson Court however. Hey, how ’bout this idea:

You forgot about the drug house down the street. What a prime piece of real estate.

The good news about Maple Avenue is that the drug house is reported to be vacant, all tenants evicted and the property up for sale. There is an active blockwatch program in that area. Citizen participation has helped there. It will take longer for the Fountain Spring Park areas to be cleansed.

Palaver- can we get a sign like that made for the street in front of El Ranchito on Broadway?

Seems the cops have been there twice recently for alleged gang activity late at night.
